Our Roots
We named our company Aster Plans after the aster flower, a very important native plant for dozens of beneficial insects. Asters can be found in native meadows, woodland gardens, and formal borders. They are a highly adaptive plant family. Just like there are hundreds of different aster species, there are hundreds of possible landscape designs, and that inspires us to help you find the design especially suited to you and your property.
Recently DNA testing has led botanists to reclassify the Aster family into into several different genus’s, but they are still the same asters that we know and love!
Aster Plans was created because the price tag on traditional landscape design is out of reach for most homeowners, but the impact of thousands of homes in every region installing more native plants in their yard and offering birds and bees a diverse array of flora all year round would make a profound difference on our environment. That is where Suburban Ecology comes in. For more info about sustainability in your yard check out Carolle’s blog here.
Our Team
Carolle started Aster Plans in order to make great, environmentally friendly landscapes a possibility for everyone. Sustainable landscape design is her passion. Learning to honestly support our local flora and fauna is the only ethical way to live. We call this practice Suburban Ecology.
